Who did you film with in 2011 and what are your plans for 2012?
This year I continued to film with Stept Productions full time, and also filmed my first segment with Poor Boyz Productions. I think both of them are great matches for me and I plan on continuing to film segments with both of them again next year.
Any features or line stand out from the rest in 2011?
Yes. Cam Riley slid the Breckenridge double kink. Gnarliest rail ever.
Who and what influences your style?
I have always been particularly influenced by skateboarding, especially John Cardiel. It is the most mature sport practiced in an urban environment and the pros are miles beyond our skill levels. I want to put together full street ski segments that are up to par with the level of innovative technicality that exists in skateboarding segments.
Best and worst travel experience of 2011?
Best this year was definitely Boston in February with Stept. There was a couple feet of snow and I was the only rider for a couple days with Nick and Stauble filming, so I managed to get a bunch of my best shots in a small area and a small amount of time. Worst was probably trying to live in a closet-sized hotel room for 9 days in Finland with Cam and Walker. Cam's feet smell really bad.
Have you ever invented your own trick and what is its name?
No but I have names for certain urban features, like a rock-tranny landing is a Continental Breakfast, and big drops to down rails are called Boston Markets.
Any you skiers you think people should watch out for?
Parker White has one of the best styles I've seen in a while. Also look out for Noah Albaladejo. He filmed with us a couple times this year and got some really sick stuff
Any close calls last season?
Too many. Worst one was probably almost getting hit by a Helicopter at the Keystone PBP shoot. They caught a bad wind and came real close, close enough to stop flying for the day.
What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?
Brush clearing and rebuilding stonewalls.
What’s the one thing you look forward to in the off-season?
Surfing, and being home on Block Island and seeing my hometown friends and family.
Shout outs to friends, family and other sponsors
Sessions, Scott, Full Tilt, and Keystone Resort for their awesome support. Huge shout out to my Mom, all my good friends on Block Island, and anyone else who believed in me.
