Powder/All-Terrain Rocker
ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility
CAMBER: Control, edge hold, rebound
This tip has the most elevation and longest measurement of Rocker and offers skiers a “surfy” feel with enhanced soft-snow performance. The camber region still exists to ensure edge-hold on firmer conditions.
Simply put, Powder Rocker provides unmatched flotation in deep snow.

Progressive Sidecut
Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance. -
SchizoFrantic Inserts
The K2 inserts allow for super fast mounting of the new K2/Marker Griffon and Squire SchizoFrantic binding system without the need for drilling. Additionally, the increased surface area of the insert rings provides 67% more pullout strength than that of standard binding screws. The Schizo binding itself uses the tested and proven Triple Pivot Elite toe and Inter Pivot Heel with an ultra lightweight, low stand height track and cable system that enables you to mount once and adjust a full 6cm along the ski from core center for the park to traditional center for powder. -
Powder-Specific Tip Design
The widest point of a powder tip is 7cm back from the standard contact point. The design adds stability and predictability while skiing and is less likely to hook or grab in light crusts or variable conditions. -
Climbing Skins
-
Directional Taper
Moderately wider tip than tail maximizes the skis performance in the forward direction. This means the ski makes a slightly different arc when skiing switch. -
Twin Tip Specific Ski Shapes
Unlike other categories in the K2 line, our twin tips are designed to ski in both directions. The demand for products that perform increasingly well either way is now the norm. K2 has exceeded that challenge by developing unique radius and taper angles to maximize the skis’ bi-directional performance. -
Plates and Rivets
K2 tip and tail rivets have evolved to allow the addition of a pre-cut climbing skin onto the ski for all your backcountry access needs. -
ABSorb - ABS /Urethane Hybrid Sidewalls
This horizontal sidewall construction sandwiches a urethane layer in between ABS for shock ABSorption, lessening the impact of harsh landings to the rider. Urethane is used under foot to maximize dampening, but ABS is used toward the tip and tail to maximize performance and edge control. -
3.5 mm Edges
Factory Team skis use thick, durable steel edges. It is far more resistant to cracking for a more durable, longer lasting ski. -
Triaxial Braiding
Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. While flex and torsion vary depending on the wood, Triaxially braided skis share the common traits of ease, forgiveness, responsiveness, and energy in both expert and entry level skis.

Comments about K2 Skis ObSETHed:
I was looking for something that works in deep powder but also for use on the trails. After about 7 days on them I am very happy with the purchase. They float very easily yet are responsive enough for other mountian conditions. The only problem with them is they scratch easily so don't expect them to look perfect for long.

Comments about K2 Skis ObSETHed:
This is a great ski for all conditions other then ice. I took these skis out to Tahoe and got over 100 inches of snow while I was out there and the skis were amazing. While others were struggling these skis just floated and was effortless. I also took these out to Utah for a week and skied them in about 30 inches of Utah powder and could not have been more happy with the ski. Was also surprised on how well the ski does on hard packed East Coast snow. When I purchased the ski I was expecting to use it less then 50% of the time but this ski is turning into my everyday ski. Highly recommend the ski to anyone who is looking for a powder rocker ski that also does extremely well on the groomers.

Comments about K2 Skis ObSETHed:
Skied on these for 2 days now, have been very impressed how these skis made me better, can easily strait line a mogul field, nice big rocker saves you big time if you backseat a landing. Still the big ski makes it more effort to turn on a groomed run, hard to tip them over at slow speeds. Very good light ski, and would definitely buy again.

Comments about K2 Skis ObSETHed:
This skis are great in powder and soft snow conditions. I have been surpriced about the nice stability and great carving on hard groomed snow. Very controlable on the parks, rails. The twin tip is a huge pros and in cooperation with GRIFFON SCHIZOFRANTIC these skis makes miracles...
One very unpleasant situation is that they scratches too easy. In the 5th day, the K2OBsethED metal sign on the nose unstuck and missed!

First time ever on rockered skis was this Thursday at Mammoth. Dumped three feet of powder and Obsethed turned the trees into my playground! Efforless. Total mind-body connection. The most revolutionary skiing I've experienced. Take a pair out the next time you've got powder and live!

Comments about K2 Skis ObSETHed:
I bought this to be an all mountain ski but I did not expect it to carve groomers and slice though chop as well as it does. I thought it would perform well if fresh show and be ok in everything else. This is the closest to a one ski quiver as I have ever had

Comments about K2 Skis ObSETHed:
I demoed the 09/10 model last season up at big ski. I love them so when I looked at buying a new pair of skis this year I knew exactly what I wanted. Although I wasn't sure if I was going to like the new model but I thought what the heck and went for it. I have never been more impressed with a ski in my life. It rips in the powder, hard pack, even in moguls. My only recommendation is to not be scared of the 189 especially if you center mount them. This ski is definitely meant to rip, and it wont disappoint!
