Powder Rocker
ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility
CAMBER: Control, edge hold, rebound
This tip has the most elevation and longest measurement of Rocker and offers skiers a “surfy” feel with enhanced soft-snow performance. The camber region still exists to ensure edge-hold on firmer conditions.
Simply put, Powder Rocker provides unmatched flotation in deep snow.

Triaxial Braiding
Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented triaxial braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. This unique method produces skis with great torsional strength, that maintains the lively flex patterns of the wood core. -
Powder-Specific Tip Design
The widest point of a powder tip is 7cm back from the standard contact point. The design adds stability and predictability while skiing and is less likely to hook or grab in light crusts or variable conditions. -
Twin Tip Specific Ski Shapes
Unlike other categories in the K2 line, our twin tips are designed to ski in both directions. The demand for products that perform increasingly well either way is now the norm. K2 has exceeded that challenge by developing unique radius and taper angles to maximize the skis’ bi-directional performance. -
Twin Tech Sidewalls
This new Twin Tip specific construction process increases the durability of sidewall skis. A traditional sidewall construction produces a 90-degree angle where the top material and sidewall meet. The Twin Tech construction actually rolls the top material into the sidewall reducing the angle that is prone to abuse. -
Wood Cores
At K2, we use a variety of woods in our cores to achieve the energy, rebound, and life you come to expect from a K2 ski. Fir and aspen, both solid and dense woods, are known for their inherent strength and durability. Paulownia is an eco-friendly, fast-growing renewable wood also acknowledged for its strength and lightweight characteristics. A softer wood, spruce is recognized for being forgiving and lightweight. -
Directional Taper
Moderately wider tip than tail maximizes the skis performance in the forward direction. This means the ski makes a slightly different arc when skiing switch. -
ABSorb - ABS /Urethane Hybrid Sidewalls
This horizontal sidewall construction sandwiches a urethane layer in between ABS for shock ABSorption, lessening the impact of harsh landings to the rider. Urethane is used under foot to maximize dampening, but ABS is used toward the tip and tail to maximize performance and edge control. -
Plates and Rivets
K2 tip and tail rivets have evolved to allow the addition of a pre-cut climbing skin onto the ski for all your backcountry access needs. -
3.5 mm Edges
Factory Team skis use thick, durable steel edges. It is far more resistant to cracking for a more durable, longer lasting ski.

Comments about K2 Skis Bad Apple:
My Bad Apples are the sickest skis ever! Thanks K2 crew! My dad got them for me (thanks, dad) and as soon as I got on them I shredded the hill. Dad helped me skip a lot of school to ride these babies. I got over 60 days on them during first grade last winter at my home hill, Crested Butte, CO, and scored huge pow days. One morning after first chair with my dad I was in the overhead white room for hours. The Bad Apples send a sweet flume of pow over my helmet in the steeps. I love my Bad Apples and I'm so fired up to upgrade to 149 cms! Dad says Hattrup must have had something to do with them. Pray for snow, kids. And keep the dream alive.

Comments about K2 Skis Bad Apple:
The K2 Bad Apple is the best youth ski out on the market today. Period. If you like to do it all from the first snows in the chutes at your local area to the glaciers of Shasta in August this is the ski for you. I bought these for my son and he celebrated this ski by putting his two hundredth day in on Shasta on a 4000 foot descent through seracs and crevasses. Although not designed for harder snow, the ski can functions as a one ski quiver and helped my son make the transition from 45 to 55 degree chutes effortlessly. The ski moved his performance level up huge the first day on them. I cannot recommend this ski enough for the serious junior skiers out there!

Comments about K2 Skis Bad Apple:
I took these out to loveland on a powder day and they were great. They smash the crusty stuff and while in the terrain park are able to throw down grinds and get air without an unstable landing. I went through the trees and the skis helped me arc some turns. I would recommend these to some one else.9 out of ten

My dad bought both 139cm and 149cm versions of Bad Apple skis for me. 139cm I have for alpine offpiste skiing equipped with Marker Griffon Schizo and 149cm for telemark offpiste skiing.
